Blizzcon Diablo "fiasco"
In yearly event Blizzon that was held 2. - 4.11 a new Diablo game was announced. Diablo is honored game series that first emerged two decades ago. There is currently three entries in the series with expansion pack for each. The last one, Diablo 3 is soon 7 years old and fans waited for new Diablo to play. Unfortunately this reveal caused ruckus as the new Diablo release was "just" a mobile game. I'm linking video to the release event as it is truly cringy to watch. The air is so heavy you could cut it with a knife.
Although many, probably justifiably, say the fans reactions are childish, there is other side to coin, too. Diablo is a series enjoyed by hardcore PC players and Blizzard had announced a diablo reveal in Blizzcon. It felt like blizzard doesn't know it's fan base. This is also part of Blizzards chain of bad decisions in their games, especially making World of Warcraft super casual. This has caused it's player base to plummet. I believe these recent events all cause the disappointed reaction in fans.
The only ones saying the reaction was childish were games journalists that probably just want to get clicks with controversial reporting.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't help that Blizzard proceeded to say that they are moving best developers to mobile games (also that they are working on creating mobile versions for all their franchises)
